Filippo

This is an original item, which we sell with a certificate, becaus the routine is not comparable with copies in the market.

The basket is on stage alreade in on-position. Let the basket move during the show but don't take notice. Just make the audience be curious caused by these mysterious movements. After 3 or 4 times you start getting nervous and - looking to the basket, you talk to Filippo (don't explain, that it is a snake, just to to him as to an assistant). You can do a lot of gags and then explain, that Filippo is tired because of the long journey he just did etc and so on. Invite a spectator on stage and ask him to choose one card (in fact you push him to the second card in the basket).
Make him mix the deck and explain him, that you won't find his card this time, but for the first time in.... (name the city or country, where you are) Filippo, the intelligent snake, will find his card! The basket moves. Carefully open the lid of the basket and pretend to be scared of something and with the same "fearness" you let the lit fall down (also now the basket can move).
Call attention to the "intelligent snake", call Filippo and ..... wait for the first reaction from the audience when they see this funny snake appear from the basket (up and down switch). Soon after the reaction will change, because they can see Filippo holding the wrong card. Confused about the situation you take the card from Filippo's mouth and ask the audience: "... Okay, okay, he had taken the wrong card, but did you ever see a snake playing cards?"
Take your glasses out of your pocket and explain, that you have found a solution. Show the glasses, put them on Filippo, shout to him and tell him, he has to find the right card (if you move the basket now, the snake will also move and it looks like Filippo reacts to you.
Filippo moves back into the basket (up and down switch) and, hence you are upset with him, he starts crying (sprinkle water). Explain, that Filippo is a quite sensitive snake and to encourage him, you suggest to feed him a bit. Take a mouse (it is very funny to use the dummy that you can buy in zoo shops) and let it fall into the basket (the basket moves). Encourage Filippo and say to him to look thoroughly between the cards (the cards fly out of the basket) and call him. Now he appears with the correct card (up and down switch)!! Take the right card out of Filippos mouth and ask for applause for Filippo. While you are doing this, push the up and down switch, so that the snake moves back into the basket. Push the up and down switch again and Filippo will appear during the applause with the "The End" card in his mouth.
This is a good end for the routine or the scene, however, if you don't want to use the snake at the end of your show, just change the writing on the flag for example in "thank you", "congratulations", your logo or the one of the company which engaged you...).
